So the next issue has almost landed and the theme is Gender Neutral so we’ll be bringing you a fantastic array of Unisex brands to feast your eyes on. And here’s a little taster…
We were invited to Laney clothing’s Press Day, a Brixton born independent label that brings mix and match to life!!! Armed with one of our Lil Revos; Lulu, I went to have a gander to see what the new collection had to offer...
Tucked away on a street corner, just off of Tottenham Court Road we found a quirky little pub called The Old Crown and we excitedly bounded up the stairs, with Lulu racing ahead eager to see what was in store (I had mentioned there would possibly be a lot of camo prints on show, which seem to be a favourite in our household at the moment). Once upstairs we were greeted by the lovely and super smiley Laurie, creator of Laney. After introducing ourselves we were left to our own devices and went on an exploring expedition in the confines of our new quirky surroundings.
The new collection is full of clean and strong lines with a big helping of a timeless classic: CAMO PRINT, in a variety of colours. Then in contrast to this there were single colour pieces in lovely neutral colours of beige, black and a luscious dusky coral colour. A particular favourite of mine were the a-line culottes in the coral pink! Being a mum of a tomboy who is obsessed with doing cartwheels (anywhere AND everywhere) I feel these will look great whilst protecting their modesty at the same time :)
The collection is made up of key pieces; culottes, jumpsuits, cropped tops, shirt jackets, gillets and jumpsuits, not forgetting their staple piece bomber jacket, all of which can be worn together but also easily matched with other pieces in your kids’ wardrobe, making them super adaptable and versatile. I’d describe the style as understated 'Utility Chic' in quality fabrics. Perfect for little mischief makers that like to look cool whilst they’re climbing trees or playing hide and seek tag or just about town hanging out with the rents!
As much as us parents love getting involved in our children’s wardrobe we all know that fashionistas; big and small love to have their own say and we think that their opinions count (since they are the ones wearing the clothes) so here’s a recap from Little Revo Reviewer Lulu:
"I really like the long sleeve black top with the black straps down the arms, they look really cool. It makes you feel like a superhero! I’d wear it as a dress."
"I love the blue camo print crop top because I love crop tops. This one looks trendy and I like the different colours of blue."
"My favourite is the camo print bomber jacket because it has lots of different camo colours and I like the pink bits on the collar and cuffs. It feels really comfy and snuggly. I think it looks magical. I like it big. I wish it had pockets though then it would be PERFECT! I’d really like to have a jacket like this and have my name on the back so everybody would know it’s mine!"
She got her wish.....she loved it so much she persuaded me to order one with her name on the back (and we got to add pockets too!). She relished the fact she could choose the colours too which is a fun option to have and gives you that bespoke feel. I’m actually super excited to see the jacket when it arrives :)
A little treat...
